On Saturday April 14, 150 UW-Waukesha students attended the second annual Pride Prom, held by Pride Alliance in the HUB.

Members of Pride Alliance described the event as an opportunity for students who never attended their prom because they were turned down, or had terrible experiences in high school because they were LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender).  It was also a chance for students to have a great time and not be judged for who they are. Pride Alliance aims to provide a safe environment for anyone in need of it.

Pride Prom was started for students who were not allowed to attend or were harassed at their prom. Pride Alliance welcomed everyone and allowed students to be themselves. Students seemed to have a really great time. The event provided music, food, karaoke, and most importantly, good company.
