Students show love for UW-Waukesha employees
Some UW-Waukesha students and teachers are speaking out against Scott Walker's budget repair bill. Students planned a "walkout" during the noon hour on Feb. 17. This walkout was in support of teachers rights. One sign that stood out along with many others was, "Support your teachers like they support your kids." When word got to the professors about this activity they decided to hold an event too. Professors called a "teach in," this event was meant to inform students about what effects this bill would have if passed and all of the effects that are currently happening. Immediately following the teach in was the walkout. The walkout was a march where students walked around the sidewalk in between the field house and southview and northview, yelling "Kill the Bill!", "Union busting, it's disgusting!" and "What do we want? We want department rights! When do we want them? Now!
