Many students buy used textbooks online, but new editions of college textbooks are released periodically rendering cheaper, used books obsolete.

    On April 30, UW-Waukesha will hold its annual student research symposium. The symposium enables students to showcase the independent study projects that they've worked on all semester. According to UW-Waukesha's Web site, "The student research symposium provides students at UW-Waukesha with a unique opportunity to conduct original research and to distinguish themselves in their chosen field of study.

    UW-Waukesha stands as one against Scott Walker's Budget Repair Bill. Students planned a 'walkout' during the noon hour on Feb. 17. This walkout was in support of teachers rights. One sign that stood out along with many others was, "Support your teachers like they support your kids.

    Where are all the janitors?

    UW-Waukesha's maintenance staff is lower than ever and is still decreasing. While one custodian will be retiring soon, there are only five custodians left to keep the UW-Waukesha campus clean and in order. However, it is not expected for these custodians to keep up with all of the campus' cleanliness because now they are working harder for the same pay that they were getting before when they had help from other fellow custodians.

    Winter has overstayed its welcome. Final exams are right around the corner and homework assignments are piled on. At this time of the year stress and anxiety are at an all time high for college students. Amy Walker, UW-Waukesha's personal counselor, said "there's no consistency" in regards to the amount of appointments she gets.
